Zeiss RZ Ballistic Reticles

Zeiss RZ6 and RZ8 ReticlesZeiss RZ is ballistic reticles that has bars on the lower vertical line for bullet drop compensation. There are two reticles: RZ6 and RZ8. The RZ6 reticle feature hold over points out to 600 yards, while RZ8 allows you to compensate for bullet drop out to 800 yards.


Zeiss RZ reticles allow you to set optimal power setting as determined by Ballistic Calculator. While most scopes should be set to their maximum magnification in order to use any of compensating points RZ reticles can be set to magnification that match specific cartridge that you use. Thus you may place more accurate shots. Zeiss RZ6 is modernization of Rapid-Z 600 reticle. It has same high performance and is good for all standard non-magnum hunting calibers such as .243, .270, .30-06, 7MM-08, .308 etc. This reticle is calibrated at 200 yards and feature hold over points for 300, 400, 500 and 600 yards.

Zeiss RZ8 reticle is as accurate as Rapid-Z 800. This reticle was designed for all flat shooting magnum hunting calibers such as 7MM Rem Mag, .300 Win Mag, .300 Wby Mag, .338 Rum, 7mm STW, .270 WSM etc. This reticle is zeroed at 200 yards as well and provides compensating points at 300, 400, 500, 600, 650, 700, 750 and 800 yards.

RZ reticles are set to be parallax free at 300 yards. If you shoot targets from 100 to 300 yards you may set your scope to any magnification. The shift of the point of impact is insignificant for big game in this range.

Remember you need to sight in your rifle at 200 yards in order to use RZ reticle’s hold over points.
